Blog 12: Piggy's Auntie

Hello, My name is Penny Pedlington, and I am from Britain. I am 37 years old. I am Edwin Pedlington's Auntie, which is Piggy in the book Lord Of The Flies. He has been living with me since he was about 5 years old of age. His parents got into a terrible car accident. And I fortunately could have custody and take care of him.
In school, everyone made fun of him since he was just a few pounds over weight. They eventually made a nickname for Edwin, calling him "Piggy". I can still remember him coming home and crying because his classmates teasing him all the time. It was dreadful.

When i heard the news that Piggy's evacuation plane was lost at sea, I was totally heartbroken. I was also amazed that the pilot on the plane could have sent some sort of distress signal. I thought that for sure the boys were doomed and finally just die. Eventually, after six brutal months of pure hopeless and always praying; my nephew would return home. I got the news that the boy had been found on a deserted island somewhere in the pacific ocean! I couldn't believe it!

After about a couple of days, I didn't think Piggy was going to come back, even thought all the other kids came. A lot of questions popped up in my head.
"Did he get Lost?"
"Did he drown in the ocean?"
"Did he have an asthma attack?"
The most familiar question was: "Did he die or get murdered?"

I was so shocked when I found out what the boys had done. Especially how they murdered my beloved nephew Piggy. They also killed another kid named Simon. I cant believe they could ever do something like this. Even at their young age. I couldnt imagine how they acted on this deserted island.

I wanted to know more about who killed Edwin. I mostly heard about Jack Merridew. He was up for both of the murdering of Piggy and Simon. I heard very little of this other friend of Jack's. I think his name was....Roger.
I just don't see how a couple of school boys are capable of killing theses two wonderful, innocent kids.

A lot of people waned to bring him to court, and I'm going. I am Edwins's Aunt, and I need to support Piggy and prove that devil child Jack Merrridew is totally guilty.

I don't have any family left, I have to at least have some dignity.

Thanks for you time
Penny Pedlington
